Bill Singh
Bill Singh is our Chartered Accountant and Director of Gulf Accountants Limited, based at the office at 4 Blake Street, Surfdale on Waiheke Island.
With twelve years experience of running the chartered accounting practice on Waiheke Island, Bill has supported clients ranging from the many small businesses through to bigger companies and not-for-profits. Bill is usually the first person you will meet when you sign up with Gulf Accountants and Bill heads the team at Blake Street.
Bill is strong on tax advice, tax problem solving and tax trouble shooting. He will communicate with the Inland Revenue Department on your behalf with the highest level of professionalism. If you encounter any tax snags or have late or outstanding tax payments, Bill can help negotiate you through this process.
As an accountant, Bill often finds he can help small businesses move forward by mediating when partners need to communicate with each other. As the owner of two small businesses on the island himself, Bill knows and understands the environment on Waiheke for small business. Bill has been a director in a technology company start up. Bill’s business background means that he is well placed to give you sound, practical, and professional advice.
Bill has an exceptionally strong background in tax. He holds an Associate Chartered Accountant qualification and is a member of the New Zealand Society of Chartered Accountants. He worked for the Inland Revenue Department for many years. In particular he was responsible for liaising with publicly listed companies in the manufacturing and forestry businesses, and sorting all their tax issues. He also worked as a contractor/consultant to the Fiji and New Delhi, India governments overseeing the introduction of Value Added Tax (VAT), a tax similar to New Zealand's GST (Goods and Services Tax).
Bill grew up in West Auckland. His interests are fishing, music, travel and walking. In 2015 his team successfully completed the Oxfam Trailwalker 100 Km Walk in twenty three hours.
In 2016 Bill successfully climbed to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

Gordon Morrison
Gordon Morrison, partner, makes up our leadership team with Bill Singh.
Gordon started Morrison and Associates Limited in 1998, which later changed its name to Gulf Accountants Limited on Waiheke Island. Gulf Accountants Limited is one of the few Waiheke based chartered accountancy practices on the island.
Gordon is involved with all aspects of accountancy and taxation, though he specializes in providing comprehensive business advice from small through to larger businesses. His experience ranges from supporting one person small business around the country such as trades people, through to large companies and complex not-for-profit organisations, like incorporated societies which are located both on Waiheke and elsewhere.
Gordon holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from Massey University and NZICA Public Practice certificate.
Gordon has spent years of his early career in roles as a Financial Controller, Financial Manager, and other financial roles and support for major companies such as Wilson Parking and NZI Insurance. In addition, he has worked as a software systems development and sales person for a New Zealand based software house. The main focus was on accounting and solution design, and implementation in New Zealand and overseas.
Gordon has experience in fields such as the life insurance industry, where he worked for nine years as part of the finance team relating to financial management, system development and financial reporting and management of the audit process. This assisted Gordon to develop the skills required for other future roles, including in the timeshare industry, parking and later Public Practice. Gordon has had other outside interests in various businesses, like the commercial security and electrical business and franchising and parking business ownerships. These businesses have all been sold.
Gordon brings his considerable skills from these roles to advise and mentor developing businesses on Waiheke and further afield, and to provide sound advice on how to structure accounting solutions to meet their needs. Gordon is flexible and adaptable and will work with you for the most cost effective solution.

Gordon Morrison
Andrew Crawford
Andrew is the Office Manager and an accounts specialist, based in the office at 4 Blake Street. He has many years’ experience in the office at Gulf Accountants and started working at the practice in May 2010.
Andrew is your skilled person for payroll, PAYE, tax, GST, financial reporting and client accounting. He is skilled in MYOB, Xero, Quantum, iFirm and iBizz.
Andrew is the go-to guy for Gulf Accountants Limited for all system secrets about managing data, such as downloading csv bank statements or re-writing MYOB reports. Andrew is a skilled administrator. He is the person the other staff call on if any computer or system needs fixing, he is one of those people who can get anything to work.
Andrew can assist you to streamline your client accounting book-keeping function. He finds that clients who use this service have more time for their business, don’t get bogged down with paperwork and enjoy the increased contact with Gulf Accountants staff. He says “We are good at what we do, and know we are quicker at coding than most clients. We have Bill Singh for back-up.”
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from Massey University, majoring in marketing. It was a course which included accounting studies.
Andrew is a Taranaki boy, who worked as a self-employed beef farmer until the market crash in 1994. Other farming experience included managing a 250-cow dairy farm for two years and managing a forest plantation of over 300,000 trees. He worked for Fonterra for eleven years, progressing from the factory floor to supervisor to international sales manager. He was responsible for 12% of the world’s pharmaceutical lactose sales worth US $12 Million, and travelled extensively in this role.
While working at Fonterra in Auckland, Andrew was the SAP order-to-delivery system contact, which he says was an intense experience.
Andrew says, “My work history means I understand a large range of businesses, from the farmer through to the corporate giants. I have been at the receiving end of a cow through to the boardroom of the most wanted man in the US. The experience has taught me to do the job properly, and to do your best to be as accurate as possible. There is no room for error in the pharmaceutical industry. You are constantly seeking improvements, and always thinking.”
Andrew enjoys golf and rugby. He is married to Ceri, and has four children who are teenagers and young adults. The family moved from Taranaki to Waiheke Island in 2004. All the children went to Te Huruhi Primary School and Waiheke High School.

Andrew Crawford
Sue McCormack
Sue moved to Waiheke in 2013 and joined Gulf Accountants in September 2014. Sue has extensive and varied experience in office administration and reception work.
Sue enjoys the varied nature of her role at Gulf Accountants and the challenge of learning new skills. Her work involves general office administration to support the accountants, book-keeping, preparation and filing GST returns, and liaising with the clients.
Sue’s first career couldn’t have been further away from this one. She started life as a Physical Education teacher after attaining a Sports Science degree in England. Sue loves all sports, nature, walking, yoga and travelling.

Sue McCormack
Claire Arthur
Claire works with company formations, and organises Companies Office Annual Returns.
Claire also keeps debtors issues up to date. You will hear from Claire if there are any queries with your accounts.
Claire has a background in community development work in a local authority and teaching, including years of teaching at a primary school on the island. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Diploma in Teaching, a Certificate of Community Studies and a Certificate in Mental Health (Peer Support.)
Claire has been in an administrative role in Gulf Accountants Limited since 2005, and enjoys the process of undertaking company formations.
Hobbies include walking the beautiful tracks and trails of Waiheke Island with her dog Max. Claire sings in the Waiheke women’s choir Sister Shout.
